How the repair progresses

The exact work depends on your vehicle, damage assessment and agreed scope.

  1. 01Assessment & estimateDocument the damage and agree what to repair or replace.

The team checks the cabin, cargo body, structure and paint, then discusses an itemised job scope. For an insurance claim, the insurer may appoint an adjuster to assess the damage; repair authorisation is confirmed with the insurer before approved work proceeds.

  2. 02Teardown & protectionRemove the fittings needed to reach damaged areas.

Depending on the agreed scope, lights, mirrors, trim or panels may be removed. Exposed wiring, lines and nearby components need protection during the repair. The required disassembly is determined by the damage, not a fixed list for every vehicle.

  3. 03Bodywork & alignmentAddress dents, metal damage and alignment issues.

Panel work, welding or structural repair is discussed after assessment. Chassis damage, cargo-body sections and door or tailgate alignment may need different work. The repair method and suitability are confirmed for the individual vehicle.

  4. 04Surface preparationPrepare repaired surfaces before the colour finish.

Discuss rust treatment, cleaning, levelling, sanding and primer requirements. The materials and preparation method depend on the surface condition and the agreed repair scope. Specific products should be confirmed in the quotation.

  5. 05Masking & paint finishingProtect surrounding areas and apply the agreed finish.

Confirm colour matching, the areas being painted and the finish required for the cabin or cargo body. Paint system, application and curing method are part of the agreed job; this page does not promise a particular booth, temperature or number of coats.

  6. 06Reassembly & finishingRefit components and complete the agreed finishing work.

Removed components are refitted and the finish is reviewed. Ask about company livery, decals or vehicle markings if required. Applicable markings, materials and installation requirements must be confirmed for the vehicle rather than assumed from a generic checklist.

  7. 07Final checks & handoverReview the completed work and handover details.

Discuss the checks appropriate to the repair, such as fittings, lighting or seals. Review the job scope, any follow-up care and applicable workmanship terms at handover. Workshop checks do not replace a required official roadworthiness inspection or regulatory approval.

Body repair & paint FAQs

Can I send accident photos first?

Yes. Send photos directly in WhatsApp when it is safe. Include the model and registration. Photos help the first discussion but do not replace a workshop assessment.

How long will the repair take?

Timing depends on the assessed damage, parts and any insurer approval. Ask for an estimated schedule after assessment; no fixed turnaround is promised on this page.

Which body repairs can I discuss with PTM?

Discuss cabin dents and panels, metal work, cargo-body floors, doors and damaged sections. Chassis or structural concerns need assessment before the repair method and scope are agreed.

Can I repaint only the cabin or a damaged section?

Yes, partial and larger repainting enquiries are welcome. Share the areas involved and preferred colours so the team can discuss preparation, colour matching and the finish.

Can body repairs be coordinated with an insurance claim?

PTM coordinates accident claims for Isuzu, Fuso and Daihatsu only. Damage assessment and the proposed repairs can be discussed together; cover and repair approval remain with the insurer.

Can PTM help arrange towing to the repair centre?

Enquire on WhatsApp with your location and vehicle details. Available towing arrangements, destination and charges must be confirmed. PTM responds during business hours and does not offer round-the-clock assistance.

What should the body and paint quotation cover?

Confirm the repair areas, parts, surface preparation, paint finish, work included and estimated timing. Ask about applicable workmanship terms before agreeing to the job.

Can other truck brands enquire about repairs?

Send the model and damage photos for a repair assessment enquiry. The team confirms suitability separately; repair enquiries for other brands do not include insurance claim handling.
