Vehicle selection
Choosing a truck body for your load.
Consider your cargo, delivery routes and loading method before choosing a commercial vehicle body.
Updated

Truck body selection means matching the body configuration to the goods carried and the way the vehicle is loaded and unloaded. Begin with the cargo type, dimensions and working load, then describe the delivery routes and access conditions. The Isuzu NPR PRO and NMR 125 examples on this website show box-body configurations for city distribution and local deliveries. Other configurations require a vehicle-specific discussion; manufacturer specifications depend on the exact model variant and body. PTM also provides commercial body construction tailored to the vehicle and working load. For a useful quotation, share the required model, number of vehicles, body configuration, business use, purchase timeframe and preferred centre.
Describe the cargo and the loading process
Start with the goods themselves: their dimensions, approximate working load, packaging and the number of deliveries normally made on a route. Explain whether loading is manual, pallet-based or handled by equipment at the delivery point. Door access, the position of loading areas and restricted entrances are useful details to share with the sales team. If the cargo needs protection from weather or a particular temperature arrangement, describe that requirement rather than choosing a body only from its appearance. Box bodies, open cargo bodies, curtain siders, refrigerated bodies, tippers and panel vans involve different working needs. Listing an option in the enquiry form does not confirm compatibility with every chassis.
Turn the requirements into a quotation
Use the vehicle enquiry to state the model you are interested in, the number of vehicles and the body specification your business needs. The body configuration field gives the team a starting point, while the remarks can explain dimensions, loading access or questions that still need an answer. Add the company industry, working use and purchase timeframe so the discussion has enough context. PTM offers multi-brand commercial vehicle conversations and a body building division; the final model, variant and body arrangement still need to be discussed together. Confirm the configuration and the quotation details with the assigned sales adviser instead of treating a website photograph as a specification sheet.
